Abstract

This article examines the psychological dynamics of Salome's personality in Oscar Wilde's Salome, which leads to destructive and aggressive behavior. The study aims to understand the changes in Salome's personality, triggered by internal conflicts and uncontrolled desires, and how these changes influence the emergence of aggression. Using a qualitative approach, the article analyzes texts depicting the character of Salome from a psychological perspective, focusing on the role of unfulfilled desires and emotional trauma as catalysts for behavioral changes. The research employs descriptive textual analysis to illustrate and explain the shifts in Salome's behavior within Wilde's work. The main findings suggest that Salome's aggression is not solely the result of unmet sexual desires but also stems from deep internal tensions and her inability to resolve inner conflicts. In conclusion, the article reveals how the complex psychological dynamics within Salome contribute to aggressive behavior that leads to destruction, both for herself and those around her.
