GUITAR MUSICAL INSTRUMENT TRAINING METHOD ON THE SONG "JARANAN" AT SMKN 8 SURAKARTA IN THE 2022 FLS2N COMPETITION

Abstract

The guitar is a stringed musical instrument that is very popular and is in demand by many people. In playing the guitar, there are also various techniques that can be played or learned, for example harmonics, legato, staccato, hammer, and many more. With the popularity of the guitar musical instrument, FLS2N was held by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, one of which was a solo guitar competition. Everyone who plays music certainly goes through a learning process, especially music learning, which can support success in achieving musical proficiency. To improve your skills you need to practice gradually and repeatedly. It is important to choose a training method in order to achieve effectiveness in the use of time and energy. The training method is a way to improve abilities and skills through a systematic and repetitive process with the training load, time or intensity increasing every day. This type of research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection was obtained from observation as a passive participant, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data validity uses source triangulation and technique triangulation. Data analysis techniques consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that the method used in this training process is the demonstration method. In this research, the trainer practiced the material directly in front of the students and then the students imitated it, but students were also required to be able to process the material given. In providing material, the trainer must also understand the student's abilities so that the material provided is appropriate to the student's abilities.
