This research examines the importance of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in the digital era, a period characterized by the rapid development of information and communication technology. TOEFL, as one of the international standardized tests that measure English proficiency for non-native speakers, has increasing relevance in the context of globalization and digitalization. The research method used includes a literature review and secondary data analysis to evaluate the role of TOEFL in various aspects, including education, career, and international mobility. The results show that TOEFL serves as a globally recognized English proficiency validation tool, helping individuals access higher education opportunities at leading universities around the world, as well as expanding career opportunities in multinational companies. In the digital age, good English proficiency is also a prerequisite for utilizing vast information resources and engaging in global professional networks. In addition, digitization has changed the format and accessibility of TOEFL, allowing the test to be accessed online, which is more flexible and accessible to participants from various geographical locations. This research confirms that the TOEFL remains an important instrument in measuring English language competence, and adaptation to digital technology increases the effectiveness and accessibility of this test. Thus, the importance of TOEFL in the digital age lies not only in measuring English language proficiency, but also in its ability to open up opportunities in an increasingly connected world.
